It may sound dangerous but it is one of the most effective rejuvenation methods off all. The so-called PRP therapy, often referred to as the Vampire Facelift, is rated by Hollywood stars such as Kim Kardashian and Bar Refaeli as the beauty treatment of choice. They adore the new facial and are not shy to voice their approval in public.

What exactly happens during the PRP therapy?

The PRP therapy is a highly effective, own-blood, anti-aging treatment during which a small amount of blood is taken from the patient and centrifuged. The PRP (Platelet Rich Plasma) gleaned from this process is injected into the skin and acts as a natural filler. The effects see collagen and elastin fibers newly form, elasticity and firmness return to the skin and a reduction of wrinkles in the skin’s overall appearance. Dr. Yusuf Yildirim Aesthetics offers the PRP therapy in combination with needling. The needling allows the plasma to penetrate deep into the skin where it triggers the production of collagen and new skin cells and also regenerates the skin structure. Incidentally, in contrast to its menacing name there are hardly any side effects. As only your own body’s substances are injected, the PRP treatment is seen from a medical viewpoint as being harmless. In isolated cases slight reddening and light bruising may occur but will disappear totally within a few days.

For whom is the PRP therapy suited?

Due to the anesthetic cream, the virtually painless PRP treatment is, regardless of age or gender, suitable for all those who wish to enhance their skin with an anti-aging treatment, whether to prevent lines from forming, to treat lines that already exist or simply to improve the quality of your skin. Only pregnant women or those breastfeeding should refrain from undergoing this treatment.

How often should the PRP therapy be repeated?

Reputable scientific studies recommend a minimum of three PRP treatments at two-week intervals*. In our experience, the exact number of treatments depends on the specific condition of the skin and varies therefore from person to person. The older and more affected the skin is, the more treatments are needed to ensure the desired effect. Once this level has been successfully reached, refresher treatments conducted at regular intervals (quarterly to half-yearly) will extend the durability of the achieved results.
